It would be even better if they build it in a way so they can never regulate the town square since users can just move somewhere else.

It should still natively federate with Mastodon and others so that we don’t bet everything on one card again. Hoping we have learned that lesson by now.

TBH the discussion feels a bit disingenuous as if we would just need to snap our fingers and we have elections. Three months prep time does not sound that much for organizing a proper out-of-order national election for DE and given that we have Christmas mid Feb sounds realistic.
