It’s rare that a movie makes me furious for the time spent watching it, but what a giant fucking waste of time Barbarian was, holy crap. How on earth was this movie so hyped? It was laughably bad that I can’t believe the same writer/director made Weapons, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Absolute trash.

Saw @sleater-kinney.bsky.social for thr 30th time tonight and it was as thrilling, incendiary, joyous and vital as the first time I saw them back in 1995. Carrie mentioned hoping to provide catharsis and, after losing my mother just 46 days ago, it was exactly as cathartic as I needed. Grateful.

Watched this brilliant film last night after hearing about it super recently and eas thoroughly captivated and pleasnatly surprised given the lurid movie poster. Clearly an influence on many filmmakers though critically reviled at the time. The visual and color saturation are mesmerizing.

Me to my mom’s friend who is helping clean out her apartment after I created a giant pile of hangers from folding all of her clothes: “I could put this in the corner of a museum with a title card that reads Impermanence, multi-media sculpture, 2025’ and people would be like ‘Mmm…powerful.’” 😆

The fact that I was made to go through the grueling gauntlet of coming out of the closet when my f@ggotry was clearly on display at all times was frankly just rude. I should’ve been able to show up one day with a boyfriend and everyone would be like “Duh, of course.”

Okay, I was totally not a child art prodigy but I was a theater kid! And technically a Shakespearean actor 🤣 This is a watercolor of me as Macduff’s son in a local production of Macbeth when I was a tween. I was coached by legit actor Jim Moody on how to fall and die without knee injury 🗡️
