But uh, when there actually was an opportunity to protect women's sports, to uphold a Title IX decision about equally distributing NIL money to college athletes, Trump admin. revokes the decision. Because, it was never about protecting women's sports at all.

Enter, Lia Thomas. More advocates for women's sports see a successful trans athlete as "unfair" and federations start to ban trans athletes too. Then: gender-affirming care becomes the target of states, using the same playbook. Finally, Trump returns: campaigns on "Protecting women's sports"

Remember bathroom bills? They were super unpopular at first! But then when certain women athletes were targeted for their hormone levels, and a group of women's sports advocates decided to target some high school girl runners, public opinion began to turn,opening the way for state trans sports bans
