Also this is the second kid activity I’ve been to today (there was an 8-12 swim meet for the older child in the morning). And I am making a lot of headway on embroidery.

Oh no! Child’s aerial circus class doesn’t have parent seating in the studio and is down the hallway from a distillery. I’m forced to try a gin flight.

My dad and I went out to look for auroras. Saw nothing. 10 minutes later the neighbors are frantically texting us. Turns out, we couldn’t see the auroras because they were right over the top of the damn house. This is Near North. Walking distance from downtown.

My favorite is when she just kinda stands around looking like she forgot what she was doing.

Another oil change, another proof of life on my mechanic’s cat, who has reached the age of 24.

Me and coffee are back at the desk. Starting a new job today as an editor with CNN’s climate and weather division. Very excited to work with @angela-fritz.bsky.social and crew!

So I went to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum in Pepin today. Major highlight: A real life pig bladder ball!

Did you all know that some kids once found a whole ass mastodon just falling out of a hillside in Wisconsin?

I regret to report that I’m now the mom who stops at flea markets in the middle of nowhere and texts her preteen to see if they want this amazing $25 phone desk and might just buy it even if I don’t hear anything back cause where else are you gonna get that kind of deal

I need you all to know that I am staying in the Moon Landing room at The Don Q Inn.

I am both curious about who is paying for this poll and why.

And I am curious about real answers. What would make better city parks in the Twin Cities (places with a reasonably rad city park baseline).
