Extremely important question: If I got a tattoo of a flumph, would people think it was the flying spaghetti monster?

All the way from 2016, the Death of Jerboa. #fattrewind
Black and White comic with screentones. An intimidating and sharp mech, built for speed, looms ominously over a robot with a missing arm. The pilot's face is full of angry determination. In the past, the pilot Jerboa is telling him about the mech he's to pilot. They're on a pier, children run by them. "It's heavy is what it is," the brother says, "but don't worry little man you can carry that weight. And hey, you got a good one. Detachment is like a falcon." Jerboa looks at him. "Oh, um, a falcon is a bird - a big bird," he clarifies. In the present, Jerboa pulls out a gun and aims it at the disarmed robot. "Sharp talons. Incredible speed." The brother spreads his hands out "A fierce hunger." The robot isn't as helpless as it looks. He grabs Jerboa and hurls him out of mech, out of Detachment, and into the vastness of space. "If Detachment is a falcon, then what's Righteousness," asking about his brother's own machine. "Oh Quentin..." he says, touching his face. Jerboa floats into the void to his death. "It's a vulture. It's a fucking vulture."

Rereading my high school copy of V for Vendetta and discovering the note I made to keep track of characters back then.

A problem I have with realistic art styles is that it taps into my real world problem of struggling to tell real people apart.

The release of the anime gives me an excuse to obsess about The Summer Hikaru Died, an extremely Maggie-core show.

The end! I hope you've enjoyed it.
Panel 1: Ashley, small, terrified: "Uh... well, good night!" Panel 2: Ashley disappears in a poof of smoke. "Ashley, you coward!" Marcilla screams as her hand begins to turn into a batwing. Panel 3: a pop out panel explaining what just happened, another excerpt from "Emil's Encyclopedia of Stolen Magical Secrets!" it reads: "Homeward Bind: a piece of enchanted string thies around a part of the body, when the knot is released the wearer "snaps" back to the place the knot was tied" Panel 4: Marcilla is half transformed into a fearsome bat like creature, and screams, "When I find you I'm going to rip your heart from your chest!" Panel 5: She flies off into the night. Panel 6: Emil and Aria, left behind, look up at the sky. "Miss Aria," Emil says, "How come we're the ones who have to walk all the way back?" Panel 7: "Because we're the help, Mr. West" She replies. The End.

GALLOWS LOVE POTION: A Marcilla Story (11/12)

My friend got it in one when he described Marcilla as an equal mix between monster and moron.
Panel 1: From her hiding place, Marcilla bursts out, yelling, "You little worm! How dare you!" Panel 2: She marches towards Ashley. "I would stake myself before spending one moment swooning over you!" Panel 3: With a big dramatic gesture, Marcilla pronounces, "To think you would consider such a thing! To force my affection with sorcery is to force any action taken under this madness. It's akin to the worst types of barbarism! More diseased in fact because it effects then mind and heart!" In the background, Emil is looking at the camera like he's on the fucking Office. Panel 3: Ashley, sensing he's in trouble says. "Now, now, Marcilla, it's not like that at all. Uh, besides, all is fair in love and war. Right?" Panel 4: Marcilla's hands begin to shift, her nails growing longer and more monstrous. "You know Ashley," she says, "For how you covet my father's power, you seem to forget he shared it with me first."

Panel 1: "Marcilla, of course!" Ashley says. Emil, Marcilla, and Aria react to that very very badly. Panel 2: Ashley explains. "What better way to secure her father's favor! I'm sure he'll be overjoyed to see his daughter take a studious man of well-breeding. As her beloved, how could he deny me the secret to immortality! Meanwhile Aria is imagining this situation, in horror. Panel 3: Ashley is interrupted with an "Excuse me" is dark, ominous text. Aria is still recovering from shock in the background.

Panel 1: Marcilla is crouched next to Emil as she picks something up with her sensitive hearing. "Someone is approaching!" she says. "Huh?" Says Emil. Panel 2: Marcilla pounces on Emil yelling "Down!" as the go behind a rock. Panel 3: From another direction, two silhouettes appear heading towards the gallows tree. Panel 4: It's Ashley and Aria! Ashley is carring a shovel and says, "It seems like we arrived here before Marcilla and her henchman." Panel 5: Ashley looks up towards the tree where there is one apple on a branch. "And look!" he says, "A perfect lone fruit waiting to be plucked!" Panel 6: Aria, as stoic as ever in expression aks, "Mr. Ashley, I am more than happy to assist you, especially if it prevents Marcilla from pursuing this like of action, but I am surprised at your interest. Is there someone who has caught your eye?" Ashley responds, "My eye? Not really, but I do have a recipient in mind." "Oh?" Says Aria.

Panel 1: Emil's shovel suddenly reduces in size with a cute "Pop!" noise. He can now carry it easily. Panel 2: He tucks in into his jacket and picks up his lantern. Panel 3: He continues making his way. Panel 4: Later, he approaches a hill with a tree on it. Panel 5: Already waiting there, hanging upside-down, is a goofy little bat, who says, "There you are." Panel 6: Batcilla: "What took you so long?" Panel 7: She jumps down transforming back into a woman. "Har. Har." says Emil.

Truly a mistress of the night that one
Panel 1: Marcilla and Emil are walking along the English country side. "Uhg, why is this such a long walk!" Marcilla complains. "Can't you fly?" Emil asks. Panel 2: "You're right!" Marcilla says. Panel 3: Marcilla starts transforming into a bat, her form stretching out into the sky, fleshy wings forming. "See you there Emil!" She says. Panel 4: Marcilla flap flap flaps away into the night. Panel 5: Emil, alone, says "Oh God Damn it." Panel 6: Emil brings out a piece of chalk from his breast pocket as he sighs. Panel 7: He draws a symbol on the shovel with the chalk. Panel 8: A journal entree pointing to the symbol he just drew. "Emil's Encyclopedia of Stolen Magical Secrets!" it reads. "Spell of Reduction, very helpful for reducing the load of the common working man."

In which the ethics of love potions are brought up.
Panel 1: Emil is following Marcilla. "I'm hesitant to bring this up," he says, "but do you think a love potion might be.." Panel 2: He scrunches his face up "...A little unethical. I mean wouldn't you be forcing love on someone." Panel 3: Marcilla looks at Emil, unmoved. "An anything they did from a result of that love," he continues, "would be, uh, forced onto them?" Emil Panel 4: A shot of Rose swooning on her bed, a bat winged cherub aiming an arrow at her heart, roses blooming on the side. "Have you ever been in love, Emil?" Marcilla asks. "Um no," he replies. "I could tell," she said, "You see the arrow of love is not the result of our rational min, love is always forced upon us. Whether that it's Eros wielding the bow or someone else!" Panel 5: "Besides," Marcilla yells at him, "I will not be lectured on ethics by a liar, thief, and two-bit magician!" Panel 6: The two continue to walk. "Alright, I am at least a three-bit magician," Emil protests. Marcilla slaps his shoulder "Pft, in your dreams." She says.

Panel 1: Marcilla: Well that's specific. I doubt there's any place nearby that fits." Panel 2: Emil slams his notebook. "Well, twenty years ago a man was hung on Apple Hill after murdering his neighbor. He was having an affair with the neighbor's wife." Panel 3: Emil walks to Marcilla, Ashley, and Aria. "Well...Thats..." Marcilla stammers. Panel 4: "It doesn't matter!" Marcilla shouts, "I am a dark enchantress of the night with 300 years of experience wooing maidens! I need no gallows love potions !" hey that's the title of the comic. Panel 5: Hard cut to Emil and Marcilla out in the night sky, Emil carrying a shovel and lantern, ready to assist Marcilla getting her love potion.

Panel 1: A stern looking young woman all in black holding a candle made to resemble a human hand speaks up. "Well, I've seen one form of love potion that works." Panel 2: With their faces in pop-out bubbles Marcilla: "Aria! What are you doing here?" Aria: "Your father asked me to assist Mr. Ashley in his studies this night." Panel 3: Aria's narration happens over a gloomy seen. A man, hung, on a winter's night. She says, "This love potion, it required a special ingredient. One must take the fruit from a hanging tree, one where the victim was hanged for a crime of love. Then you must take this fruit and buty it six feet under the moonlight. Return seven days later. If the fruit remains unrotted, almost unfathomably perfect, feed it to your beloved. Do this and they will fall madly, eternally, in love with you."

Panel 1: Establishing shot of a stone room with chains and occult symbols drawn ong the floor. Marcilla, Ashley, and Emil enter. There's a woman clad in black already in there. Ashley says, "Well regardless, your not going to woo her to your ways with just flowers and poems. No, I suspect you'll need something stronger, like some great love potion." Panel 2: Marcilla is offended by this. "Love Potion?!" she says, "Am I some hedge witch selling snake oil to common whores!" Behind her Emil is quietly taking something out of his breast pocket. Panel 3: Emil starts drawing the occult symbol that is on the floor into a well-used notebook he has while Marcilla talks. "Besides, I'm pretty sure there are no real love potions.

Panel 1: Marcilla is at her painting. “I just need to find the way to unlock her heart!” A well dressed man enters the room, “Excuse me, Miss Marcilla, I was logging for eggshells and was told you might-“ Panel 2: The man, Ashley, pauses “Is that my cousin?” He asks. Panel 3: Marcilla, sitting, looking unimpressed “ah yes Ashley, I do forget your relationship to her sometimes, as one would forget the relationship between doves and pigeons.” Panel 4: Ashley is standing there and taking this shade. Panel 5: Emil hands Ashley a box. “Here are those shells,” he says. “Thank you.” Panel 6: Marcilla removes her apron as she calls out to Ashley as he is leaving. “Though it occurs to me you might have some insight into Rose’s heart,” she says. “Her heart?” Panel 7: the two walk together as Marcilla throws the apron onto Emil. “I regret to inform you my cousin is a normal girl,” Ashley says, homophobically. “I’ve heard that before,” Marcilla replies. “lord, You are shameless,” he says.
