I think it’s just a classic lack of leadership at DC government, and an unwillingness to take on the bigger task of permanently changing the streetscape to be less car-centric.

Oh, I worked on streateries in Georgetown in the early days of the program (back when we had to measure distance btwn tables for covid safety) and I actually don’t think that’s the case. Because of the OGB, Gtown always has to have its own considerations.

Like, how is it that I have to pay $100, print the signs myself at a police station, hang the signs up (always in a location where there aren’t existing posts to hang them on), take and submit photos of the signs, and it’s still not enough to get them enforced?
