Doing the adult reading challenge from the Massachusetts Center for the Book. This was a philosophical rollercoaster. Gonna reread it in a few months and try to rope someone else into reading it with me 😅

Isaac’s Song took over a week for me to finish because every time I tried to read it, I would end up crying. Then, when I finished it, I sobbed. 5 out of 5

I don’t know how he manages it, but Hendrix finds the perfect balance between horror in the mundane and the supernatural. This book was brutal, and at times, surprisingly funny. A timely publication as we fight again for reproductive rights.

Walking around Epcot last week I saw the prettiest window in the Twinings tea shop in England. Watercolor of tea? Amazing! Makes me want to pick up my paintbrush again 💕

I’ve read a lot of healing fiction, this is by far the best and my favorite yet! Maybe it’s because my own recent personal journey to becoming a bookseller is reflected but I found myself crying and feeling better about my new path in life after reading this.

One of many books I finished this last week. Format took a while to get used to but loveably flawed characters. If you are looking for a unique, queer emotional read definitely give Kate Fagan’s new book a chance! 4.75 out of 5
