08 LEAF #peachtober25leaf
In the yard of my childhood, there was never a shortage of common plantain. I remember my great-grandmother applying its leaves to bunions and all sorts of foot abrasions. I remember how I used to enjoy pulling the veins out of its thick leaves.

07 STRAWBERRY #peachtober25strawberry
This prompt immediately made me think of Fiona Apple's "Heavy Balloon", where she sings:
“I spread like strawberries
I climb like peas and beans
I've been sucking it in so long
That I'm bursting at the seams”.

06 RING #peachtober25ring
Shortly before this year’s Peachtober prompt list was released, I came across a news story about Kazik the oystercatcher, who—together with his mate—successfully raised chicks this year. The pair was supported by kind people from Fundacja Ptasie Horyzonty.

03 SLUG #peachtober25slug

I have to admit, I don’t have good associations with slugs. The ones that I encounter most often are brown Spanish slugs and they are highly invasive. I can’t remember them from my childhood, now they’re everywhere.

01 ACORN #peachtober25acorn
Eurasian jay's Latin name associates this bird with acorns (Garrulus glandarius), and sometimes in Polish you can also find such an adjective ("żołędziówka").
