Adding on to video games, there's another game called Wagotabi, it's on steam and mobile ($5 or so), it's an RPG and designed for absolute beginners but teaches you to read early on.

The developer stated that the website contents will never be AI generated (if community-sourced contents happen to be, you can report it and they will be removed). There are a lot of new features, I recommend checking it out again! And the discord community is lovely (no gatekeeping, no drama).
