#Dublin City welcoming NFL players and supporters this weekend. We’ve been playing gaelic football matches in the US since 1886 so I guess it’s our turn to host now.

Here’s my offering for this week’s #senryusunday, in two languages! I wrote it around a year ago. A contrast to tonight’s lunar eclipse! 🌒

Here’s a wee poem I wrote two years ago this month, in the marvellous Majestic Café in the beautiful city of Porto in Northern Portugal. ☕️ 🍰 #senryusunday

Fantastic gig by the legendary Mick Hanly in Small Changes in #Inchicore last night. My friend Ursula and I got to chat to him afterwards, and reminisce about gigs of his that we’d attended in the 1990s in #Dublin City. He’s still in top form! 👌🏻

This time last year, I had a writing residency in a cottage at Cill Rialaig near beautiful Ballinskelligs on the Iveragh peninsula in South County Kerry - winners of today’s All-Ireland football final 🥳 Anyway, this was one of the poems I wrote there. #SenryuSunday

Here’s a #haiku that I wrote this time last year, in beautiful South Kerry, on a writing retreat. And it’s fifty (50!) years this summer since I learnt how to play guitar - lessons from my big sister when I was very young! #senryusunday

I had a most enjoyable trip
to #Dingle last week. The weather was mixed but one made the most of it. Lots of walks, reading and socialising with friends & family there. #Kerry #holidays

Here’s a #haiga which combines a (popular) human-interest #haiku (senryu) of mine from the 1990s with a photo that I took of #Sandycove ten years ago, while waiting for some fish and chips. #SenryuSunday

Day out in #Powerscourt House & Gardens (County #Wicklow) yesterday. I hadn’t been there for 20-30 years, and had forgotten how lovely it was.

I wrote this a year ago, and am about to embark on another year of gowning duties, tomorrow night in the Round Room of the Mansion House in #Dublin (where our Lord Mayor lives). #senryusunday

Lovely afternoon for a stroll by the Grand Canal in #Dublin The yellow flag irises are in bloom, as you can see, earlier than usual. That’s probably due to the unusually long spell of sunny weather that we’ve been enjoying here on this (often) rain-soaked island. 😎

I’m so fortunate that my local park is the WW Memorial Gardens in #Dublin (designed by Edwin Lutyens). They’re beautiful at this time of year, with clematis & wisteria in bloom, and the roses starting to emerge ❤️ ⬆️

I wrote this ‘ku around two years ago, on a small island off the Scottish coast, but it was also partly inspired by memory, since my Mum has been several years dead. Strictly speaking, it’s a hybrid haiku / senryu. I hope you like it. #senryusunday

Here’s a #haiga with a #monoku for #InternationalHaikuDay. It was inspired in County Galway (Connemara) a few years ago and I’m back in the same spot, with the same friends, today 😎

Here’s a #senryu that I wrote this time last year. My friend’s Afghan tenant is still in situ, and has settled in well to his new life in Dublin, Ireland. #senryusunday

We enjoyed the workshop in haiku & mindfulness that we had on Saturday in gorgeous Glendalough. I had a lovely group, who engaged with the materials enthusiastically and wrote some fine haiku. And the rain held off, as you can see…
