I think a more charitable reading was warranted here. “unless you take some extreme position like Lance Bush?” was more about acknowledging your position as as distinctive or noteworthy in some way - requiring more discussion than is possible in the allotted 300 characters. 1/

Looking at the benchmarks, Pixtral Large seems to be roughly on par with (or slightly worse) than Qwen-2 72B VL! Chinese open models are consistently better, it’s crazy.

I’d like to add to that even the reactions of relevant experts - many philosophers of mind also consider EM and illusionism extreme.
Atheism still is extreme in many places. My country is around 80% Evangelical Christians, for example. 1/

Yes, I also consider nonphysical properties extreme and outlandish and prefer empirically-grounded alternatives. I don’t recall myself mentioning anything nonphysical though. In general I am not sure how I feel about the physical/nonphysical distinction because… 1/
