Live in Northamptonshire. Too many interests. Beer, pubs, coffee, books, medieval crosses, listed bridges, Grade 1 listed buildings, sport. Very left wing but that’s not for here necessarily but it tells you I’m a nice guy.
It was bloody windy at Arbor Low this morning.

The Church in Edensor, Derbyshire and its medieval cross base with Tuscan column topped with sundial. From yesterday.

GBG26 Pub 19. From yesterday. Towcester Mill Brewery Tap. This place just gets more and more busy. Pint of Downlands cascade because guests aren’t always available. In the family room because seats were at least available in there.

GBG26 Pub18. Hall Croft Tap, Shepshed. Nice micropub with Charnwood beers only. By George very tasty. Sat by the fire again. Despite all the flags in town Id happily have these two pubs closer to home.

St Botolph’s Church Shepshed. Grade 1 listed. Conveniently placed between the town’s two GBG pubs.

GBG26 Pub 17. Black Swan, Shepshed. Tasty Bass in a nice pub on a steep hill in a town apparently full of flag shaggers. They’re on all the lampposts and they’re full size. Who paid for all them? Despite that I enjoyed my visit. GBG worthy.

GBG26 Pub 16. Red Lion, Kegworth. After dropping daughter back at Uni. This is a gem. Would love this to be nearer home. Dancing Duck At Up the cheapest beer available and it was very tasty. Sat by the fire and made friends with a doggy regular. Superb.

GBG26 Pub 15. Barley Mow, Cosgrove. After a great canal/river walk. Half of Tiger. Decent beer, decent pub. Nothing really to dislike. Helps fill Northamptonshire’s quota.

We ‘tape’ almost every Channel 5 mini series and then totally slag them off for how awful they are when we watch them. It’s quite the obsession. Currently binging Murder Most Puzzling. Damn, it’s shit.

From yesterday GBG26 pub 14. Coach & Horses, Wellingborough. Huge selection of cask, craft and so called ciders. My Abbeydale Yorkshire Bitter was good (beer is always good here). But GB News on the tellies? A step too far to the right.

GBG26 Pub 13. Rose & Crown, Yardley Hastings. Here for a meal. Definitely a foodie pub but beer always good. Pints of Nene Valley Manhattan Project and a delicious Abbot. Food also top notch.

Isn’t Slow Horses absolutely bloody marvellous?

Where I spent a couple of great hours last night watching a Pink Floyd tribute.

Today was a good day.

Couple of pints of Bass from the jug at The Old Red Lion, Litchborough. Not a bad Sunday mid afternoon.

GBG26 Pub12. Cordwainer, Northampton. Last one standing of the four Spoons we’ve had. Beer quality always good these days. Halves of Daleside Old Legover and Lancaster Atlas. Two floors so I enjoy the lottery of which bar is the quickest to get served at.

Gammons in the pub saying we need a war so all the fighting age men can be brought in line and all those coming over on the dinghies will be able to join our side. I despair.

GBG26 Pub 11. Malt Shovel, Northampton. I guess this is my local. It’s been up and down tbh over the years but it’s definitely in a good phase. Busy tonight, sadly not a gammon free zone though. Pints of Nethergate Oktoberfest and Vale Daily Grind enjoyable.

GBG26 Pub 10. After a couple of non entries a Burton Bridge Damson Porter in The Craven Arms. First time for years I’ve approached from down the hill and it’s hard but good cardio. Maybe not the best choice of beer but I wanted something dark and I have a soft spot for the brewery.

Verdant Sail We Must in Cherry Reds. Knocks every stout I had in Dublin out of the park.
