Wondering if the story will be entirely new or just the presentation of it will be (and whether that gets backported to PC in some form).

Just squinting and wondering who these people in the trailer are once I recognized it was Entropy Effect, wondering if my brain was fried before the title.

Nail on the head. Visual aids/guidance have always been around either overtly or subtly, just may lean more overt now. There are also more remakes with easy comparison to the old, which might have subtler signs that get pushed aside for modern aesthetics (high fidelity/natural lighting/etc.).
