Theres plenty of ideas that I started and don’t feel like picking back up because they aren’t worth the time investment. Deciding that something has run its course and you’re done with it isn’t failure. I’m really excited to see what you make moving forward

I think the space away from the project really helped me grow as a cartoonist and story teller, and I’m happy to be diving back in but spending time away reminded me that I WANT to finish it.

<3 listen for what it’s worth I stopped making ghost slappers shortly after graduating for a lot of the same reasons. Then I spent a few years playing with some other ideas and decided to go back to ghost slappers like a year ago for an in print only version

Creeping carefully into your room you lift your window, letting in that last warm breeze before the storm reaches you, hoping to catch the last breaths of the accordion song, there’s a delay and then, quietly, the last two lines of the song drift up from the street below

Anyway so far what I’m learning is that I really spent a LOT of time on my phone doing nothing and that replacing that time with something I enjoy doing has been good for my brain.

I am not really a fast reader it just turns out I have a lot of little pockets of time throughout the day where I’d pull my phone out and scroll and scroll. I still used to read a lot (last year I read 20 books?)
