I just want to make art but I'll settle for dismantling fascism.

Pronouns in flux, (he/they/"whatever") are acceptable options at this time.
For some reason I thought you meant the mythological Prometheus being ahead of his time and... Ok where are you going with this?

But yeah, Prometheus very weird thematic interesting film. A lot of the themes around quarantine date back to the original movie which I don't think has been matched.

Oooh. Yes, that's really bad.

I agree but could someone fill me in on the specific context?

It's like you open your phone and see someone say "have you seen the latest f**ked up thing?" and you don't want to commit yourself to a firm yes in case your f**ked up thing isn't the latest and most f**ed up.

Also if we do the "it was a holodeck program" meme then it implies that Garak and Jadzia were into some weird and kinky shit. Which is not exactly new information.

I watched the first three fairly recently. I think it's a very interesting concept but I don't know if they've ever really nailed it.

I don't care about money but I'm reliably informed that I need it to live for some reason.

I think this line was written by Ronald D Moore who'd written a similar line for Picard in First Contact so he was kind of taking the piss out of himself.

I can't help thinking of the ven diagram of holy water and half empty drinking bottles left in the sun as disease vectors.

One is a horror movie and one just isn't very good. Which is which may surprise you!

Live and Let Die involves Bond facing off against the supernatural and Casino Royale 1967 involves several "Bonds" dying and going to the afterlife with at least one condemned to hell.

I'm joking but I realise now that that's not even unprecedented for the bond series.

He's in hell and it's a supernatural horror franchise now

The original movie enterprise would take a lot to beat for me. I love the Millenium Falcon but it looks like shit on purpose.

Good for them though, I'm glad that they're comfortable enough to live their truth.

It's also way more interesting to study grave goods and work out how you fit into the society you lived in.

Maybe they were thinking of paleontologists?

Besides who's to say that in a thousand years their concept of sex and gender will be the same as ours?

We have birds nesting outside our window right now. Mum and dad taking turns to feed the babies. It's very life affirming. Needless to say we're keeping the cat inside.

I mean it doesn't have to move around much, although it can when it has to. It's so much bigger and more powerful than the other hero ships.
November 7, 2025 at 4:41 AM
I think the D has a less dynamic shape than a lot of the other ships but that's kind of the point.
