Peace be with you as you grieve this immense loss.

Rest in power madame secretary.

The accuracy. Lord.

I think if they allowed a secret vote for impeachment that it would work but Trump would never allow it because he wants to root out the “traitors”. Didn’t Murkowski admit this week that elected officials are scared of him? Also I hate this timeline.

For profit prisons are insane. And even if we spent half of that per inmate per year, it’s infuriating that we refuse to invest that kind of money to educate our children or to provide mental health services for our citizens.

This likely isn’t even SIPR…this could be JWICS. I’d be shocked if most of this wasn’t TS/SCI or in some kind of SAP.

This is on par with Teixeria and his leaks.

My grandfather lost all of his grandparents in this epidemic before he was born.

My great grandmother was born in 1900 and told many stories of her young adulthood when she delivered medicine on her bicycle to ill people; my great great grandfather was a pharmacist.

I’m so angry about it all.

They sell magnetic ears now to make any hat a “Mickey” hat.

I hate it here sometimes.

I’m taking training to be an alternate resource advisor for my squadron and there’s an entire module about the appropriations process and I stared at the slides thinking, “not sure why I even need this given current events.” 🤬

I’m cynical and frustrated. I’m an AF civ for more than a decade and I’ve never seen ANYTHING like this. I alternate between “there are good people that will do the right thing” and “how do I get the hell out of dodge”. I’m not seeking an echo chamber, I’m praying our mil does the right thing.

And when that ally is suddenly labeled an adversary because they don’t want to be “given the gift” of 51st statehood…

I love your optimism but as a lifelong pessimist, I’m rarely disappointed, altAF.

I loved Colbert’s comment…guns out! No doubt. Whew. 😅
March 17, 2025 at 12:39 AM
Yeah but what about opening fire on Canada? I fear it’s next.

Also I never thought I’d say something so fucking crazy.

Did North Korean press write this announcement?
March 16, 2025 at 9:28 PM
He’s spectacular.

In case you didn’t see the Colbert interview of him recently…he’s just so likable as a human.

Rest in Power Elisa. I’m so sorry the country you loyally and faithfully served let you down. Peace be with all those that loved you as they grieve this immense loss.

I was thinking more along the lines of the H1B visa holders that are foreign born and were a hot topic last week because of the long hours and terrible pay these employees are subjected to, not US born people that work as cleared contractors, often at higher pay rates than us Feds.
January 4, 2025 at 12:40 PM
Yes. We bought ISUs for one of our units at the end of last year and because of small business set asides, we had no choice but to pay $10k more to buy through them. It’s an effing expensive pass-through. I told my disabled vet husband we’re in the wrong business.
January 4, 2025 at 3:37 AM
We’re already there. We got a fantastic raise a couple years ago that broke our budget so I just expect that to continue. 🤷‍♀️

I feel so badly for people in other agencies. I hope none of this actually comes to fruition.
January 4, 2025 at 3:35 AM
I don’t dispute your take-you’re likely right but it’s so backwards. It takes so damn long to get a contract in place, plus there’s mandates for small business contracting (which almost always costs more). Civilians in my field typically make less and cost less than contractors.
January 4, 2025 at 2:56 AM
Thank you. I’m hoping our leadership can insulate us a bit. We have lots of people in our workplace that are eligible for retirement so it may make things temporarily worse if we lose a lot of folks all at once.
January 4, 2025 at 2:41 AM
Yep. Scare us or make us so miserable that we quit.
January 4, 2025 at 2:36 AM
Not to mention…they actually have to be qualified. But yes, it’s a huge burden to hire new employees and in my experience, contractors are more expensive than civilians (speaking as a former COR and current strategic planner).
January 4, 2025 at 2:35 AM
I don’t think you can for everything. There are certain types of info like RD and CNWDI that must have special access to even see them. Only certain networks can transmit them.
January 4, 2025 at 2:32 AM
My only consolation is that it’s still taking so long to get clearances…they can’t possibly dump all of us for someone else. There wouldn’t be anyone to do the work.
