imagine a tobacco company urged governments to embed smoking a 'core component' of a healthy lifestyle
In Ireland, the Government has been urged to embed AI as a 'core component' of the education system after a study suggested that matching OECD levels of digital innovation could create 14,000 jobs and add €1.8 billion to GDP.

Who funded the study? Google. 🤔

As we celebrate international workers day, let's remember why Tesla was problematic waaaaay before Musk joined DOGE.

This is a super important point! We should just copy the US digital economy
The EU must aim higher than merely copying the US digital economy. It worries about being "uncompetitive" when it should worry about being subordinated. on.ft.com/4gvoCuF
The EU needs the courage to imagine a different digital economy

Should we deregulate and move towards a US model for tech?🤔 No! We need to insist on a European alternative way forward. A way where our rights as citizens is taken seriously🤩 For me, there is no doubt that we are better off in Europe because of, e.g., the GDPR. www.version2.dk/artikel/stat...

Sad to see the acceptance of do-what-you-want-mentality when it comes to online data. The wide adoption of OpenAI (who just grab data without asking), pretty much legitimizes this behavior. So unfortunately, this is not very surprising... just sad that this is where we are. So much for #dataethics
New from 404 Media: Bluesky may have said it won't use user data to train generative AI, but someone else just published a dataset of million Bluesky posts for "machine learning research". Already very popular dataset, your data may be scraped www.404media.co/someone-made...

I am all for exploring how AI can be utilized, but why does critical thinking not apply to how "GenAI is going to change the world"? The question seems to be "how do we put GenAI in our product" rather than "does GenAI add value to our product". Getting real blockchain vibes here! #genai #ai

All the people who keep pushing MFA and long, complex, and unique passwords as something which is easily done, should do themselves a favor and sit down with an elderly relative and let them try to set up a new phone! #usablesecurity #security #mfa #2fa
