that first decade of strips has such a curiosity and temporal nature to it. I love all of Schulz's eras, generally, but there was something v special and unique in those early comics.

You can really see the Dynasty Warriors esque ' big interconnected war' narrative structure and it works so well here...!

I don't want to sound like a dork but it is like a LOTR take on Zelda. A group of disparate forces, made to unite in a common cause against a rising, subjugating evil. It gives Hyrule and all its nations - and races - context and meaning in a way they've maybe never had. I'm with you - I love it.

I don't think it's possible to play Tears of the Kingdom, skip this game, and have much to say about Zelda's character. It feels designed to be the complement - the shadow side - to that game.
It's also just a great Warriors title

it's good bc it's like ripping the band aid off early
also, if you actually enjoy it, the anime is so behind and if I'm being honest does a really terrible job capturing what makes Fujimoto's art (at least) unique and interesting to look at
so the manga is worth the effort. v fast read too.
