I am thrilled to announce I'll be starting as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at New Mexico State University this Fall!

I can't wait to work with some amazing colleagues and students amidst the sky islands of the SW! Woooo more ecophysiology, evolution, and snails!

Oreohelix sp. (not haydeni, evolutionary convergence!) from Rattler Gulch mating. Oreohelix are a snail group that inhabit semiarid outcrops and give live birth (ovoviviparity). This birthing mode is thought to help them hold on to offspring to give birth during opportune times (e.g. rain).

Flipped O. haydeni hybrida in the wild! Super cool and super rare to see in most land snail species.

Oreohelix haydeni from Franklin ID. Brought back to the lab for some snail raising. Did pretty well for the few months we raised them.
