I'd flip your first two choices. GMK gets #2, with Against Mecha-G getting top slot for me. Mostly due to the stuff with Akane. I have grown to like GMK more than when I first saw it, but I like Akane more as a lead vs Yuri. Though props to her father in the film one of the better JSDF characters.

The most forgettable of the Millennium Series. But at least they took the ideas here related to the main character, and better executed them for Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla with Akane.

This one features my favorite of all the Godzilla designs, the story...eh leaves a little to be desired. However, this one is great for the fact they get rid of the titled monster only for where the movie would usually end they then realize, oh crap, Godzilla is still around!

BY THE WAY

If you've updated to Windows 11 recently, you're probably on version 25H2.

There's a new setting in Settings: Privacy & Security.

Scroll aaaaaaaalll the way to the bottom and you'll see "Text and Image Generation."

TURN IT OFF.

Godzilla vs Kong in the carrier group is the best one. Because it has Godzilla in a great fight with the military and then, also shows why he's the master of underwater combat. Showing why in the 60s face off between the two, Kong ran as soon as they started fighting under water 😈

One my favorite Godzilla films. Nice mix of a serious storyline, little debating of use of certain technologies, established a stronger continuity for the Heisei Era vs the Showa, and finally Godzilla is still the principal threat of the movie. Something I like about the first few Heisei films.

Overall, I think the film will be set either 1950 or maybe mid 50s. That lets them use the original cast still, though traditionally Godzilla films use new characters in each film. Also, probably likely there's another monster in it BUT I want Godzilla to still be the focus and THREAT.

My favorite of all Anime Corner Months! Hedorah was a break from the Showa norm, but in good ways and...well bad LOL Ironic though that it was this film's creator who is largely responsible for the current Godzilla resurgence we do have today though. So, Banno we can thank you for that.
