My nephew got it years ago when we lived in Bakersfield, it’s terrifying. He was hospitalized for awhile and was on anti fungal meds for months. It also mimics a lot of other diseases so until her saw a pulmonologist, they didn’t diagnose it until way later and he was pretty sick by then.

I got shingles when I was 36. Started as a weird dark spot above my ear, started having inner ear pain, Dr checked and confirmed it was shingles. Was on antivirals for a week and nerve pain meds for another week. It’s such a weird illness, I was so FATIGUED! Wish I could get the vaccine!
