Update: he is able to appeal the decision in person at the local SSA office. Fortunately he is off sound mind and body and can take himself there. Pity the person who is homebound or in a nursing home
To @vanhollen.senate.gov and @alsobrooks.senate.gov : another story from the trenches: my 96-yr-old father-in-law got mail from SSA yesterday cutting off his benefits. He's working class, retired policeman & dutifully paid taxes & social security, served the public with honor. This is despicable.

Wondering if @radiofreetom.bsky.social can name a country that has gone from a Republic to an authoritarian state in the modern era, or any memoirs by people who have lived through something similar to the US right now. Wondering what to expect for regular life going forward
