Here, the Irawaddy delta still flooded from Typhoon Yagi - which had made landfall a few weeks earlier, in September 2024. Then over 3K miles further north west, the view over the river Amu Darya along the border of Uzbekhistan and Turkmenistan. 2/

A few weeks ago I returned from research fieldwork in Thailand. Morning flight, sunny skies throughout the journey. Mesmerised by the view from the airplane window - struck by beauty and fragility in equal measure. 🧵
