Last summer my 16 year old son went with his schoolmates to help build houses, plant trees in the lower ward. So proud of my boy. It was mostly Latino workers, laborers that rebuilt New Orleans after Katrina. Folks there remember and respect those folks. No one asked them for an ID. Thank them. 🙏🏻

Immigration enforcement is underway in Southeast Louisiana and on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Today we can confirm some people have been detained in Kenner, LaPlace, and New Orleans. ICE agents have also been spotted staging in Metairie, Gretna, the River Parishes. Stay safe out there. 🙏🏻

Fuck Donald Trump and anyone else who thinks these folks don't deserve to be in America. There are good people, hard workers. This is what America stands for, immigrants that love this country. Fuck your racists bigotry.

Nearly two dozen community members surrounded a house in a Minneapolis neighborhood where ICE officers detained an East African man. The man was detained in an apparent immigration action on Thursday afternoon but was later released.
