Because the current system of checks takes far too long. When a simple check of a card would speed things up.

I get that. I never gardened until I retired 2 years ago, now I find myself trudging around garden centers with all the other pensioners buying compost and trying to stop my roses dying and getting quite hurt when plants die (which they seem to quite a bit).
