I forgot to post yesterday, so day 7 & 8 are combined:

Yesterday was a lot of experimentation, which is the most fun bit so far! Learning is great, but getting to use what you've learned in order try out your own ideas, is amazing. I programmed a UI that can track different item pickups.

Day 6 of #100DaysofGameDev

Being busy resting from a tiring week made this a day with not too much game dev. However, it was a very fun session where I finally got to see different aspects of the first week come together: detecting mouse inputs, playing animations and changing states!

Day 5 of #100DaysofGameDev

Today was the first bit of exploring the Godot animation tool to make a simple animation! It was quite simple, but enjoyable to toy with.

Day 4 of #100DaysofGameDev

Today was all about learning about mouse interaction. Making 2D objects have increased border thickness when a mouse hovers over them, or deleting them entirely, things like that.

Day 3 of #100DaysofGameDev. I had slightly less time than I had hoped today, but that's all part of learning and sticking with it.

Today I focused on learning how to randomly spawn items on the screen, how to animate said items using Tweens in Godot and how to work with collision Layers and masks!

Day 2 of #100DaysofGameDev

Today was a coding intensive day, but progress was really good! I experimented with adding items to a scene and updating values and UI when the player object collided with the items.

So, yesterday was actually Day 1 of #100DaysofGameDev. I went through a lot of GDScript practice and I put it all to practice by making a simple object listen to player input in Godot and move in any direction, as well as rotating according to the direction.

I will post a #100DaysofGameDev here. Once again, I don't expect this to be read by anyone, but it is for me to stay accountable and to document my learnings.

Some days will have massive amounts of learning, some other days very little. Some aspects I have experience with will go very fast, while

This page will be a way for me to stay accountable with my gamedev journey. I don't expect this to be read by anyone.

As a background: I will be learning most skills essentially from scratch, but I have done some small dev learnings (coding) in the past and have done QA in the games industry.
