What a year it has been @northronbirdobs.bsky.social ! Personal highlights include Ortolan Bunting, Great Snipe, Black-faced Bunting, Long-tailed Skua, Stone-curlew (island mega!), and a pterdroma now in the hands of the BBRC powers that be as a Zino’s Petrel! #UKbirding

The Black-headed Bunting on North Ronaldsay yesterday was hanging around the seaweed and walls to shelter from the strong Westerlies. An unexpected bird in these weather conditions.

The Black-headed Bunting on North Ronaldsay yesterday was hanging around the seaweed and walls to shelter from the strong Westerlies. An unexpected bird in these weather conditions.

I have been meaning to get a blog going for a while now, and @georgenorthron.bsky.social abandoning me to go to Finland seemed to provide the motivation.

Taiga Bean Geese at Slamannan today took a bit of work to find with @tomgale98.bsky.social and @georgenorthron.bsky.social, but eventually saw them pretty well. Smew on the way back to Edinburgh was an added bonus #UKbirding
