It's fear and desperation at the core, when you think about it that way it becomes easier to paint them in a corner. You can't change their mindset, only they can, but you can let them paint themselves into the corner where they are forced to confront their own thinking.

I like this idea

She's very smart, very observant, and excels at communicating the stupidity she spots. Her politics lean too much toward big government for my liking but she is most definitely a needed figure
