The U.S. has entered war with Iran. This wasn’t a vote. This wasn’t a debate. It was a decision made for us. War powers abused. Lives at risk. We must resist militarism, reject far-right alliances, and start organizing like it’s already here because it is.

I wrote this as a queer, disabled, white, cisgender woman. While we are not the primary target, we are still in danger, and we need those with more privilege to step up—now. Read this, sit with it, and act. Silence is complicity. Swipe for the full call to action.

Every unchecked box—queer, disabled, female, Black, immigrant, trans, non-English speaker—removes another layer of protection, pushes us another rung down the ladder, another step closer to the line of fire. I say this as a white, cisgender, disabled, gay woman. I live with the constant knowledge that I am “other.” I am a target in ways many of you will never experience. And yet, I also recognize that I still carry privilege, privilege that others—especially people of color, trans people, immigrants—are not afforded. I am not immune, but I am not as exposed as those who are pushed even further to the margins. I stand in that uncomfortable middle: safer than some, more endangered than others. Whether you claim it or not, whether you like it or not, you are still the ones positioned closest to the levers of influence and survival. It is no accident that every authoritarian regime, every fascist movement, begins by targeting the most marginalized—disabled people, queer people, people of color, immigrants, women—and counting on the silence or complicity of those at the top of the social hierarchy. We are always the first in line. History has shown us this: • Disabled people were among the first victims of the Nazis, murdered under Aktion T4 before the Holocaust fully began. • Black, Indigenous, and immigrant communities in the U.S. have faced systemic violence and disenfranchisement for centuries. I decided I wanted a different look for my plant spaces in the living room. I have this little cut out on both sides of the center fireplace. So I am going to do this on both sides. The black chest took 4 hours to build, and I have two. I love it so much. 🪴🖤

I mentioned a few days ago that I decided to re-learn how to crochet. My first project was a standard DC scarf. This granny square throw pillow cover was my second.

I’m feeling accomplished - it’s the little things these days.

I picked up crochet again, thinking it would be a good hobby to help relieve some of the stress of *gestures at everything around me* buuuuuuut I haven’t done this in like a decade and starting over is H A R D.
