Ooo! It's this a thread where we can show our photos of magnified wood? Because I have some pretty pictures of 1000 year old wood charcoal. But I respect if it's mainly a fossil photo thread.

😆 My friends who love her Temeraire books also love the rest of them, so I feel confident in reccing them! I particularly love the Scholomance trilogy, but her folk and fairy tale retellings are really great too. Especially Spinning Silver.

Gabrielle Zevin Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow. Andy Weir Project Hail Mary. All of Naomi Novik (except hey dragon stuff, but that's a me thing). Most of Taylor Jenkins Reid. T. Kingfisher is coming out with a new book soon that's on my list...

Same! I cannot listen to the sexy parts of romance.

The best audiobook in have ever listened to is Lincoln in the Bardo.

For books that I've enjoyed in no particular order: Rebecca Makai The Great Believers and I Have Some Questions. Emily Tesh Some Desperate Glory.

What sort of books are you looking for?

Lincoln in the Bardo is an amazing audiobook.

Libro.fm works exactly like Audible but the money goes to an independent bookstore in the US. You can buy all released audiobooks as long as they aren't under Audible exclusive contracts.
Same audiobooks. Different story.
Libro.fm makes it possible for you to buy audiobooks directly through local bookstores.

Same! Every year I make sure to pick up her May/June release. It's a must read for me even though I usually go in very different directions with romance novels.

If you have any interest in Romance stories at all, Nora Roberts is the way to go. Her standalone books are TOTALLY compelling and never dumb. I recommend her romantic suspense novels to anyone who wants to read some good romance novels.

After all the effusive praise, I feel like maybe as a fan I don't do enough? It's a very weird feeling to feel from Dropout.

It's important to note that I'm pretty sure I will always know language 2 much better than language 3, but I will use language 3 way more often than language 2.

After spending 3/4 of life bilingual, I have recently moved to a country where I am trying to become passibly fluent in a third language. Some days I have no idea WHAT language I'm thinking in, especially when I try to think in language 2 but 3 bubbles up unexpectedly!

I love both of them!

I came on here to rep Inkscape! When I was screwed over by Adobe licensing while writing my dissertation (university didn't renew their license) I vowed I would only use Inkscape and other open source programs. Gimp is the open source answer to Photoshop in case people need it!

Shush you... we are all 25. Not that I want to be 25 again, but I certainly don't want to be grown up advisor age either!
