What about a YA Para Horror with tinges of romance?

Do you have any interest in YA Horror or Adult Horror only?

I saw you have horror and young adult on your submission genres, but do you accept YA Horror?

Sadly, I already took it apart. 😅 I have a friend who adores HP who’s going to borrow it! ❤️

“Writer’s Marketplace” compiles a list of agents. It’s a good place to find agents who aren’t as interested in social media or using QT.

If I’d queried above 100 agents with absolutely no bites or feedback to use, personally, I’d start by hiring an editor to look at my opening pages and query letter. After that, if they don’t identify a major issue, like a huge plot hole or something, I’d give print sources a try. 1/2

I write horror, which is not everyone’s cup of tea, so I do my best to respect the wishes of wherever I submit my work to!

The good news is the market isn’t static. It’s constantly growing, expanding, and changing. New agents and opportunities will crop up. If you got helpful feedback, consider making edits, and try looking in new places for agents!

YA, MG, adult… I’ll take any horror that wrecks my REM cycle. Strangely enough, podcasts have done it better than books for me, but I am always on the hunt for the perfect haunt!

I love PB, but I’d only ever illustrate. Like poetry, I think there’s a very specific talent and skillset for writing PB! #kidlitchat

@michellewitte.bsky.social Turns out my inner teen refused to graduate. 😅 YA has always been my groove. First college workshop, I got roasted for bringing a YA piece. Still ended up with an MFA in kid lit. 🤷‍♀️

I love how horror and thrillers have been picking up steam. I’m not really sure as to the cause, but personally, I’ve always loved a good Blumhouse film. There has been a big shift away from romance and comedy in movies. I think we’re seeing books follow that same trend. #kidlitchat

Cool, thanks. Sorry, new to Bluesky!

Hm, I think my reply was deleted? Did I do it wrong? 😅

I write YA horror, and while the horror elements aren’t something I’ve experienced in reality, the novel I’m querying was based on my time as a Christian youth camp counselor when I was younger. I’m currently in the process of starting up another MG/YA horror novel. Similarly, it’s partially real.
