A public librarian in the South Eastern US.
My sister is visiting for the holidays and brought Kimchi's sister, Moose. She is currently purring outrageously in my lap, and I don't know how I can be expected to leave and go to work in these conditions...
Really missing my sweet old boy. 💔

This week's birds. A great blue heron at the park and dark-eyed juncos in my back yard.

Happy 250th birthday to Jane Austen! We threw a ball about it at the library, complete with Regency dance lessons and a screening of Pride & Prejudice.

At any other job, you would be fired for saying the kind of garbage our p.o.s. president is spouting in the aftermath of a tragic murder. He SHOULD be fired, for that and many other offenses. #impeachtrumpNOW

Is there a support group for ex-homeschool cult survivors? I need to talk to someone about how insane creationist science in the 90s-00s was and how much culture shock I experienced after leaving my hometown.

Why is it that when the weather gets even a little bit cold, I immediately want NOTHING except to sleep and eat bread? 😩

I guess I know what kind of old lady I'm gonna be...
Really a nice start to the morning.

R.I.P. Kimchi (Mar. 2011 - Aug. 2025).
He was a grumbly, bitey, crusty little cuddle-bug who slept curled around my head almost every night. He loved hunting in the back yard, going for walks, gently biting new friends ankles for attention, eating watermelon, and sleeping in ridiculous positions. 💔

I LOVE a day where I don't leave the house. Too rare lately. Any day I can indulge in binge-reading in comfort and peace (minus occasional harassment from the gremlin in the corner), is an excellent day. 10/10.

I've really struggled with not being taken seriously, presenting an idea that is dismissed and then later brought up by a male coworker as his own original idea in the same meeting. I naively used to think we were past this culturally, I sadly know better now.

I love being a librarian! I love reading book reviews, buying sci-fi, fantasy, and mystery books for my community, and finding ways to help readers find what the adventures they're looking for. 🧙‍♂️🐉🚀🌌

Working as a public librarian, little things like mending a well-loved book are some of the most satisfying.

Silly potato. This is Kimchi. He is 14 years old and FIV positive. He snores. Known to growl and grumble while purring. Also a biter. I love him.
