Book 7 of 2025. Forager: Field Notes for Surviving a Family Cult. This is a quick read that uses poetic prose and botanical fun facts to tell the story of what it was like living in a cult as a child. It's beautifully emotionally intelligent. #bookrecs

Book 4 of 2025, When Women Were Dragons by Kelly Barnhill. Dragons symbolize feminine rage and breaking out of patriarchal systems. It's not bad but has a lot of fluff and gets repetitive, and I am an impatient reader.

Book 2 of 2025. I read this as a teen and missed basically every context clue. Reading it as an adult I admired how there was a whole other story happening in the subtext. Some of the language aged poorly but the overarching theme of a child bride trying to survive is timeless. #bookreviews

First book of 2025! Bi is a tidy book about the definition, history, science and culture of bisexuality. It talks about bi behavior in animals, unique issues that face the bi community and how heteronormativity impacts research in gender and sexual behavior. #bookreviews
