In Nashtifan, Iran, some of the oldest windmills in the world still spin. Made of natural clay, straw, and wood, the windmills have been milling grain for flour for an estimated 1200 years

This gives them natural light camouflage against predators like roaming sharks and tylosaurs (which live around their island). Sophia also has false eye lines like a cat. The V on her brow is based on Minoan art called the "Chieftain's Daughters" as a joke on the fact that she's just that.

I like to think since in the campaign I'm in the goliaths have lived on the island of Polyphemus for thousands of years, that fish are important enough a source of food that their markings have darkened along the spine, lightening in the front like an orca or great white shark.
