🟣 Join the Boston Area Research Initiative conference, the perfect space for researchers, policy makers, non-profits, and community members to meet (at a community college no less).

🔵 Sit in on an undergraduate lecture on homelessness in the US - eye-opening and heart-breaking at once;

🟢 Attend a thought-provoking lecture on The Gender Order of Neoliberalism by Cinzia D. Solari at the Department of Sociology (once a sociologist, always a sociologist...);

🟡 Present my PhD research and connect with new people;

🟠 Be hosted by the amazing @lorettaclees.bsky.social in Boston at the @buoncities.bsky.social, in their beautiful brownstone;

Looking back on my one-week research stay in New York and Boston, I’m happy (and a bit amazed) to have ticked everything off my list:

🔴 Visit the DUMBO neighborhood in New York City - a place I’ve read so much about in the gentrification literature;
