Paid $850 for this in the early 90’s. Was my daily driver well into the 00’s. It’s been very reliable and has very little rust. If the original engine ever blows up, I can drop a new one in, at home in my garage, cheaply. Which is something that can’t be said with anything new.

Took perfect care of this and the transmission went out before 150K miles. Cost would have been 10K to fix. So it’s a mechanical total loss. It looked new when we sold it for $3K. We can fix the old cars ourselves, at home, cheaply.

This thing couldn’t even get to 150K miles before the transmission died. The trans would have cost $10K to replace. So, it’s a mechanical total loss. We sold it for $3K and considered ourselves lucky. If the trans went out in our 67 we could fix it ourselves at home for a fraction of the cost.

It took a lot of whacking and come-a-long cranking to get the face of my 2005 E-250 pulled out after someone swiped me into a guardrail. But, we got it cobbled back together. The “5” looks like hell and has a ton of miles but it’s still the most reliable thing I’ve ever owned. 🤷🏻♀️

I don’t know who needs to hear this but, there is no such thing as “lifetime transmission fluid“. Automakers consider the warranty period as a vehicle’s “lifetime“. Service your transmissions folks. Otherwise, you might end up with a mechanically totaled vehicle in your driveway. 2020 TC worth 1K.

My coworkers are next level special! Two drivers got suspended over this. Driver A didn’t notice a wheel falling off on the freeway. And driver B didn’t notice that the wheel was missing before taking the truck. Glad nobody died because these idiots can’t bother to do pre and post trip inspections!🤦🏻♀️
