Same. In my evangelical upbringing, I witnessed a man in real time displaying the teachings of Jesus I was being taught ..while simultaneously hearing every “Christian” around me say what a failure he was. Hurt my brain then, hurts it now when he is not respected and appreciated for his goodness.
