Finally got the photos that I mentioned yesterday, in a shareable format. 20 years old in these. Taken at a party on the last day of a summer job, 1980. Coincidentally, party was held at my mother’s families’ bar/restaurant (that ain’t there no mo).

Zen, 2. Ran into a friend last week who also loves Brazilian music and told her about a show that 2 other friends were having last night. She shows up and 2 songs in she’s hooked, and starts texting other friends to come. They in turn show and also keep the text train going. Had a sold out house!

Morning zen. Played tourist yesterday, and after living in Seville for 4 years, we explored the Catedral. Its a tad gaudy, but still impressive and thankfully, neither the Moors or the Catholics destroyed the work of the others.

My buddy, Max (on the leash) toward the end of his 21 year life. We then lived close to Bayou St John, and he struck a friendship with a dog we would see almost daily. Odd, because he never expressed any interest in any living thing beside my wife and me.

Morning zen. Glorious day, yesterday. Trip to Museo de Belle Artes for a photography exhibit, and got to admire the dome in one of the wings. Night cap with some fantastic samba and bossa at a Brazilian bar, capped off by a lunar landscape.

Morning and afternoon zen. Photo of a horse carriage from this afternoon. Féria started last night (week long celebration of Sevilliano culture) and horse carriages play a prominent t role. And, last night’s jazz session at Gallo was such a great performance.

Morning zen. Last night’s manouche outing was made that much nicer with an appearance of Seville’s knot hole gang (peeking in through the window on the right of the picture).

Last night we returned to the 1st neighborhood that we lived in Seville, Triana. Went to a new place fur us, Colombre, to listen to a long time friend, Lola Santiago. As always, she was in wonderful voice.

Morning zen. Power and cell service back on in Seville. Got this from my son yesterday. His band, The Debtors, closed out Fedtivale International on Sunday in Lafayette. That’s him on guitar. Writes the songs, too.

Morning zen. Made our way back to Taberna Ánima last night, for a pairing of two friends, Italian singer Gloria Illesi (watch for her- she is capable of great things!), and Sevilliano guitarist extraordinaire, Luis Seibert. And a view on the walk back home.
