This is Japanese traditional paper ‘washi’
About 1,500 years ago, the goddess of paper appeared upstream along the in Echizen(Fukui). There, she taught papermaking skills to the local villagers.
Soon after, she was given the name Kawakami Gozen,
and has since been worshiped as a goddess.
