The answer, of course, is 'it depends' - but it is by no means certain, and will require substantial change from the publication industry

Since I started looking at the reporting quality of animal research in the neurosciences (and in now way claiming causality!) - reporting of eg randomisation and blinding has pretty much doubled - so gradual improvement is happening all the time

There is always a challenge - speaking as a meta-scientist - to describe aspects of the research process which need to be improved, while not suggesting or implying we should rip it all up and start again.
