I feel like part of it is there was a period of time ~2021 where that reaction made more sense (they were more popular/hard-to-ignore, the Among Us faux pas was fresh, Travis was more active on social media in general, etc) and a lot of people don't want to accept that >4 years have past since then.

When the debate first started I supported calling them bleats (because Blue and it keeps with the animal noises theme), and my inner sheep still feels partial to that idea. With everything surrounding modern Twitter & and with how bsky culture's turned out, just "posts" probably works best tho, yeah

One of the tragically ironic elements of all this is it's going to make untagged and unforewarned extreme content more common. If having certain fetishes in a game's tags get it unlisted, then below a certain level of popularity, the simplest solution for creators is to just not tag extreme content.

Not a smut artist, but between AI slop's prevalence making it harder to get noticed, the popularity of sites that allow for pirated smut (not to sound anti-piracy - but for small artists, I imagine it often hurts more than helps), and regular legislative threats to the industry, it seems rough.

OneShortEye on YouTube has done some some really neat videos covering old Sierra adventure games, including their history, technical details, easter eggs, speed running scenes, etc.
His videos on The Colonel's Bequest, Conquests of the Longbow and King's Quest 8 are particular highlights IMO.
