RIP Porch TV 2. Knocked over this afternoon. Later longer than I expected frankly.

RIP Porch TV 2. I knocked it over while servicing the pellet stove.

They’re cheap, and this one lasted longer than expected. It spends the nice months on the scree porch with the humidity and the pollen. (Hence the name Porch TV 2. I suspect there is a Mk 3 in my near future.)

Kinda funny this morning watching #monsterdon and #goldenglobes run in parallel.

Judgmental: if you are leaving the gym in the same clothes you worked out in, you are doing it wrong.

You’re either not breaking a sweat, or you’re sharing that sweat with the rest of society.

I enjoyed sports television more before it was about stats, lines, and gambling. #capitalism #enshittification?

The one computer thing that I still need to drive to fix waited for me to crack a beer before going offline.

It rarely crashes, and I rarely drink.

Pro tip: Photoelectric smoke alarms cannot distinguish between fog and smoke.

Humidity is great for winter comfort, but if you run a mist-style humidifier on full blast in your child’s small, closed room you will get a visit from the FD around midnight.

(Never seen anyone achieve indoor fog […]

Just watched a Tesla leave the car wash and go to the Dunks next door. Dude, you’re doing it wrong.

You get the beverage *first* so you have it while sitting in line & in the wash.

#wristcheck for today: the recently repaired #casiocult AQ-230.

This one was a gift from a now-departed relative. It’s been on the shelf for a while needing a battery. It’s not a common battery in my toolkit, so it kept waiting. Finally running again.

One day between vacation and work. You know what that means.

Chores. Bills. Repairs. And the gym.

And the law in this country “forces” me to buy health insurance. They’re so close to getting it…

I should toot some of my own things today, but I’m in a watch-Columbo-and-scroll-Mastodon mode right now.

Family is baking cookies and I’m just enjoying the smell.

Between the new work schedule and the holidays I have no idea what day it is. Yesterday seemed to be #caturday so I guess it’s Sunday?

I’ve always loved how “manual control” in #startrek just means pushing different buttons.

Impeach, primary, and/or vote them out. Every one of them. Not just the fascists, but the collaborators and enablers too.

Every. Last. One. Of. Them.

And then try the criminals among them. That’s how democracy is supposed to work.

Allow me to connect some dots for you:

Too much of the world currently relies for its basic functions on resources which must be continuously extracted. You burn that oil one time and oops, now you need more.

Geopolitical horrors are, in fact, one of the reasons we need to move to renewables ASAP.

I spend a day offline reading a good book, and the US commits an act of war.

This should be the last straw for that tangerine toddler, but I fear it won’t.
impeach the MF already. #itmfa

I’m gonna buckle down and go read some more.

We learned this 80+ years ago at the Coconut Grove. It was reinforced 23 years ago at The Station.

Safety codes & code enforcement are part of civilization. People should do time for this.

I’m tempted by the likes of StoryGraph, Bookwyrm, and even Goodreads, but in the end I default to a list in the back of my latest Moleskine. I just don’t feel the need to organize and optimize that data.

I read some books in 2025. Not sure how many. It was more than some years and less than […]

I was taught this too. Then I learned that (allegedly) the X comes from the Greek spelling of Christos.

In the end it doesn’t matter. It’s an accepted abbreviation
