Retired librarian, enthusiastically incompetent golfer.
Not just regulatory ambiguity. Australia Post also states that the USPS and US Customs have not published data interchange standards, so there is no automated method to communicate value, status or even recipient.

Rational, no. Relatable, very.

She is currently snoring quietly beside me on the sofa. Approximately 10 minutes to go before the daily ritual of Barking at the School Bus.

Our darling beagle Piper loved her squeaky toys. Used them in a surprisingly passive aggressive way. “Look, I’m a good girl, playing with my toys.”
“No, I don’t care that it is 1:36 am.”

Ideas above his station, so to speak.

I marvel how currawongs and magpies and the like can make “hey, wanna fuck?” sound so lovely.

Damn. Image now firmly stuck in my mind. Anyone got a lettuce?

Geelong Cats. A great community club. No pokies. And in a town small enough that no indiscretion goes unobserved. Also quite good at football over a long period.

I strongly believe that decency matters. My (Australian Rules) club has a clearly expressed “no dickheads” policy, and it makes following them a true joy.

Dear Dmitry, your friends and admirers worry that this analogy came to your mind. R U Ok?

As someone living a long way away, and with no particular concern for this or that Premier League team, I think that any changeroom would be improved by having Rashford in it. His work for school meals alone makes him a model to be followed.

Fair enough. When I worked with some Americans in the 80’s and 90’s, many of them knew the Oils too. On the other hand, I had to tell them who Acca Dacca were. They called them Acey Deucy.

Phone numbers I know
- mine
- my previous mobile phone
- my spouse
- the house I grew up in from age 6 to 22
- my mother’s last home number
- my office number from the 1980’s
- only one of my home phones from the 1980’s

Anything else is stored in my contacts and thus forgettable.

In retrospect, the second order partial differential equations one is unconsciously doing to calculate whether you can get to the kid before they can get to the trouble are quite amazing.

Having moved away from Melbourne, I miss the vibe of getting off the train at Richmond and ambling up to the ‘G in the company of a few thousand like-minded souls. And the return journey, in joy or sadness late in the day.
