Anyone else sick and tired of people talking about President Biden’s health? Unless it’s well wishes for a speedy recovery, they all need to just stop. Focus on the current president. There’s more than enough to cover.

The people who I know that voted Republican and Trump told me they were doing so “because something has to change” — I now tell them congratulations you successfully tanked the economy, tanked the United States’ global standing with allies, and in general turned the US government into a travesty.

Wondering if we would be in this spot as a country if the Pledge of Allegiance had been written just slightly differently. What if it said “I pledge allegiance to the Constitution of the United States of America, symbolized by this flag….” Just sayin so many seem to ignore if not trample it.

Perhaps a failure of our attempt to teach history as a lesson to prevent recurrence of fascism was that we did not directly make the literal connection to prevent recurrence of the conditions in society that seed and feed it. Undermining public education has been an enabler.
