It not unusual to take up birding in your 50s.
Looked out my office window yesterday and was confused by an orange sherbet-colored cardinal. Told @mdvana.bsky.social and a quick google later, it was ID’d as a Cedar Waxwing.
Have I inadvertently become a birder?

Just after the Cheeto’s tariffs announcement (after market close), NASDAQ after hours market looked like this: over 2T lost before 6pm. This is worse than everyone’s worst case scenario.

A couple of folks have crunched the numbers (Evercore ISI - their chart, below; @fcastofthemonth) and concluded that the U.S. weighted average tariff, with all Trump's new orders in effect, will be higher than under Smoot-Hawley. (The start of the Great Depression.)

Torriden is the one I’m using and it’s been really good, though I’ve been off my skin care game for the last week plus with this cold (sick). Also, it’s kind of hard to tell how good because I’ve never used it without my other skin care products.

I’m also actually a big fan of advent calendars. We have a fancy one for the dog and usually have a specialty one for the humans (chocolate, whiskey or wine sometimes).
