Fantastically enjoyable week of chamber music with Mia Cooper,Aoife Burke and Fiachra Garvey,rehearsing and performing Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time in @triskelartscentre.bsky.social and Hugh Lane Gallery.

An immense privilege to delve deep into the masterpiece with such superb musicians!

Rewarding and inspiring few days at the Lithuanian Symphonic Wind Orchestra talking and workshopping Performance Psychology.
It was fantastic to have such an open dialogue about the big taboos of performance anxiety and stage fright and help musicians to be more confident and comfortable performing!

Thoroughly enjoyed returning to Feuerwerk Einbeck piano academy in Germany last weekend and talking to the students about performance psychology.
We discussed stress, adrenaline, and their effects on us and also how to consistently deliver optimum performances regardless of circumstances.

As part of @snagaeilge.bsky.social , I made some short diary pieces about the @rteco.rte.ie work. Today it’s all about our home in Studio 1 in @rte.ie radio centre, where we rehearse, broadcast, and recently recorded a new concerto written for my old teacher John Finucane!

It was such a pleasure performing Mozart with Dublin Orchestral Players last week!

What a wonderful group to play with, and I couldn’t resist posting a short clip from the rehearsal - possibly the most introspective passage in the piece, the recapitulation in the melancholy second movement.
