I knew it 😎

I absolutely agree. At this point, I feel good bouncing between UE5 and GMS2 based on what kind of game I'm making. I also feel like I could pick up other engines and learn confidently if needed. It's a good feeling.

Noted! I got some grinding still left 💪 😎😭😂

I absolutely agree! GameMaker just makes 2D development seamless. It's intuitive (for the most part), and it does have a feeling of being more refined, similar to Unreal. I have enjoyed working with it so far, but I'll admit I'm not pushing it to its limits either.

I haven't tried 2D in Unreal yet, but I have been thinking about it...🤔 I might dive into the madness 🤪

Nice! I'll keep an eye out for your game! I'm also avoiding console ports until later games.

Yes! The head programmer at our studio tells me constantly about the pains of using Unreal for unintended purposes, lol. Luckily, it has so many intended ones. After 8 years, I still feel like I'm learning so much about Unreal.

What platforms are you releasing Witchy Tower on?

I also dabbled with GameMaker in the early 2000's, then in 2016, I started working in Unreal. But because it wasn't great for 2D, I rediscovered GameMaker, and it's been really enjoyable to use. The sprite editor is so nice to have.

I agree, it's so easy to go from idea to working prototype in GameMaker! I love the in-engine sprite editor. The community has been great too!
