When my kids were little, I said I actually had three kids: two humans and a carpet. Carpets get stains that you can't get out and then they look horrible. They get matted and then look horrible. Hardwood all the way. :-)

I think that includes faith in the notion that people will "do the right thing." My faith in a general "inner morality" has taken a beating.

They were locked out. They didn't shut it down. Republicans shut it down to block the votes necessary to release the Epstein Files and blame the Democrats full stop. They did not need Democrat votes for any of this. DO YOUR JOB.

This is the sobering lesson I have learned. How many people are now saying loud and proud what they have felt all along and how many agreed with them with their votes and then went to church and talked about empathy and love. I didn't know it was SO MANY people.
