Donor, that BECAUSE of my genetic disorder my blood is incredibly useful due to it being rich in iron and I’m fully allowed and even encouraged to donate. I spent 7 years having my blood taken out of me and instead of it going to save a life it was considered medical waste.

I only found out a couple months ago because, while i have a genetic condition that REQUIRES i have my blood drained on the regular, i wasn’t allowed donate in my home country due to same condition. Nobody ever bothered typing me.

I believe the phenomenon is frequently referred to as “weak induction” And is used maliciously imo. It’s something that came from the old site and i hate that it’s here. It’s sad because there are people whose thoughts or saying i value. But there is a toxic undercurrent on here. It’s turning me off

Oh I don’t go NEAR discovery. But some creators i enjoy are unfortunately getting into wars of words with deeply unserious people over pointless trivialities and it keeps popping up. I’ve already unfollowed a number of people chronically doing so and boosting their responses.

I’ll be very happy to see it. You aren’t one of the people making me feel this but I’m damn near ready to leave bsky. It’s full of just…the most exhausting people and my attempts to prune my feed have been fairly ineffective.

That depresses me. One of my favourite things about visiting Canada as a a kid (I’m from Ireland) was having the chance to get Timbits again. I haven’t been back for quite a while but i was looking forward to visiting again and casually going to Tim’s.

I think it’s more that learning Irish in school is a soul draining experience. Especially for a language that is very different from English. The lack of use didn’t help. I ended up going from watching dubbed SpongeBob on cúla4 before to the same channel only airing subtitled westerns after school.

And some Irish words were among the first i spoke. But. I started school where learning Irish was mandatory and it faded really quickly.
I can muddle through a bit and have almost perfect phonology but almost 100% off my Irish knowledge now is used to explain to people how strange the language is

That would make sense to me. I paid basically no attention to the behind the scenes so i just noticed that summer and Beth had way more to do after a while. I thought it was just the writing settling in and maturing.

The women in the show are over time shown to not only be competent but intelligent and capable, the show is hardly some feminist masterpiece or anything but Most of what you’re getting is more due to the shitty nature of the characters and the somewhat boys club nature of the writing imo.

If, however you saw American psycho and thought Patrick Bateman was a hero to emulate, It’s world consuming.
