Pretty basic pillar of conservatism.
- no safety nets until a storm/ flood hits the south
- don't support gay marriage until their child comes out
- cut gvrnmt support for healthcare unless it's their Medicare
- abortion is black & white until their wife or daughter needs emergency care
- etc. etc.
